DIVING AND CORAL RESTORATION

Since I was 13, scuba diving has been one of my great passions. I started diving in my hometown of Santa Marta, Colombia, where the crystal waters and vibrant marine ecology introduced me to the world of life beneath the sea. With each dive, I felt more connected to the ocean and its inhabitants. As I grow, this love of marine life has awakened in me a deep respect for Caribbean biodiversity and a commitment to its preservation.

Now, I dive for coral restoration. Watching the ocean from my first home in Santa Marta, I have witnessed many of these vital ecosystems being lost over time. For me, Santa Marta is a magical place, full of natural beauty, and its preservation is fundamental. My work in restoration seeks to regenerate the reefs and restore their splendor.

AGRICULTURE AND FARMING

Growing up in a family of palm oil makers, I was raised with a deep respect for agriculture. Since I was a little girl, I have been surrounded by the world of cultivation, learning the whole process, from cultivation to oil production. Seeing up close how the land is worked with care and consideration has inspired me to follow this path. As I move into my next phase, I want to continue to be involved in agriculture and farming to help develop the sector and contribute to the sustainable growth of agriculture in my home of Colombia and the greater region.

SCHOOL COMPOSTING PROGRAM

To preserve the health of soil in my community in Bogotá, I help manage a composting program at my school. Our efforts are focused on the importance of sustainability and recycling organic waste. We have implemented in-school composting systems in the school greenhouse, teaching children how to turn food waste into natural fertilizer for school gardens and orchards. This program not only reduces waste, but also encourages environmental responsibility from an early age, integrating sustainable practices into our youngest students’ daily education.
